Music

Quentin Budworth is a hurdy-gurdy maestro, composer, and self-proclaimed serial obsessive passionate about drone music, European culture, and progressive green politics. Based on the Isle of Skye, he is known for his innovative work with world music band Celtarabia. During daylight hours he is an award-winning filmmaker and photographer. When not working on new music or performing you’ll find him cycling through the Highlands of Scotland, swimming, or indulging in his love of cheese.

In 2019, he spent a year travelling around Europe studying contemporary hurdy-gurdy with many of the world’s leading players. He researched and learned repertory and techniques from Iberian, Gallic, Nordic, Greek, German, Dutch, and Italian modal folk traditions.

Quentin has spent a lifetime exploring and developing offbeat ideas and unusual skills. He is a happy and curious resident of Obscurity Corner seeking out beauty, revelation, epiphany and novelty which he now wants to share with the world through music, words and pictures.
